Jiangmen Dual Carbon Laboratory

The Jiangmen Double Carbon Laboratory was established in 2021 as a joint science and technology innovation platform between Jiangmen City and the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou). The laboratory campus covers an area of 83.5 acres with a total floor area of 172,000 square meters, featuring comprehensive work and living facilities. The laboratory pioneers a new model of integrated development between government, industry, academia, and research, combining the “Double Carbon Laboratory + Double Carbon Industrial Park” approach. It integrates high-quality research resources to conduct disciplinary applied basic research, core technology breakthroughs, and technology transfer and application in the Double Carbon field. Focusing on five key research areas—silicon energy power systems, new energy storage technologies, carbon measurement and bio-utilization, carbon capture and industrial utilization, and Double Carbon policies and system design—the laboratory has already attracted a group of high-level talents. The laboratory has been approved as the “Guangdong-Hong Kong Carbon Neutrality Science and Technology Joint Laboratory,” marking the first joint laboratory in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area dedicated to carbon neutrality research. Additionally, it has been designated as a national-level postdoctoral research workstation, a Guangdong Province postdoctoral workstation, and a Guangdong Province science popularization education base.

We sincerely invite scholars and young talents from around the world to join us in building a world-class carbon neutrality research platform and talent cultivation base!
