The School of Electrical and Information Engineering at Wuhan University of Technology was established in 1977. The school currently offers one doctoral program in Control Science and Engineering, two master’s programs in Control Science and Engineering and Information and Communication Engineering, and two professional master’s programs in Electronics and Information Engineering and Energy and Power Engineering. It also offers six undergraduate programs: Measurement and Control Technology and Instruments, Electrical Engineering and Automation, Automation, Electronics and Information Engineering, Communication Engineering, and Information Engineering.

The school is home to several research and teaching platforms, including the Hubei Provincial Key Laboratory of Optical Information and Pattern Recognition, the Hubei Provincial Key Laboratory of Cross-Media Detection and Target Recognition, the Hubei Provincial Key Laboratory of Intelligent Robotics, the Hubei Provincial Engineering Research Center for Video Imaging and High-Definition Projection, and the Provincial Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center for Electronics and Information and Control.
